Baby bedding should be chosen with an eye to practicality as well as attractiveness; a plastic sheet covering the mattress will save Mom and Dad many hours of cleaning up messes because babies are amazingly talented at getting their mess into every nook and cranny of the nearby environment.
It’s fairly common sense that all bedding should be able to be washed, however, make sure you have multiple sets because you can count on the fact that some point both your original bedding and the back-up will be in the wash when your baby has another messy incident. Ask your pediatrician before purchasing sheets for baby’s bed to assure safety and appropriateness for different age children. Fluffy blankets are not recommended for use in a crib, but you can still use that special gift or handmade quilt from Grandma in the daytime.
